Make Accounting Come Alive

Join Us as an Part-Time IGCSE Accounts Teacher

Accounting is more than just numbers on a balance sheet—it’s the key to understanding how businesses grow, how economies thrive, and how individuals make smart financial decisions for their families. Yet, too often, students see it as a set of abstract rules rather than a skill that shapes their future. What if accounting education could prepare them not only for exams but for life? If you believe that financial literacy is just as important as formulas, and that students should leave school equipped to navigate both the business world and their personal finances, this role is for you.

We are looking for a Part-Time IGCSE Accounts Teacher to help students build a strong foundation in accounting while developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world financial skills. At our TongXin Waldorf school, we emphasise a balanced approach to education, blending academics with creativity, ethics, and practical applications. We don’t just prepare students for exams—we prepare them for life.

A Different Kind of Teaching - With Support to Make It Work

This isn’t about delivering pre-packaged lessons. It’s about helping students see the real-world relevance of accounting—how it shapes businesses, economies, and even personal financial decisions. You don’t need prior experience in holistic education—just the passion to explore a different way of teaching. You’ll have the freedom to integrate case studies, technology, and hands-on projects, and the support to adapt to a more student-centred, interdisciplinary approach.

What You'll Do (With Flexibility & Guidance)

  • Make Accounting Meaningful – Teach in a way that connects theory to real-life business, finance, and ethical decision-making.
  • Engage & Challenge Students – Use case studies, discussions, and practical exercises to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Prepare Students for the Future – Equip them with exam strategies while also fostering financial literacy and career awareness.
  • Work in Small Classes – With only 10-15 students per class, you’ll have the space to personalise learning and build strong student relationships.
  • Collaborate Across Subjects – Connect accounting to business studies, mathematics and tech, creating a well-rounded learning experience.
  • Support Learning Beyond the Classroom – Organise or contribute to finance workshops, student business projects, or stock market simulations.
  • Contribute to School Life – Be part of a supportive, community-driven environment, where teaching is about more than just delivering content. Teachers, students, and parents learn, support and grow together.

Who We're Looking For

  • A qualified Accounting teacher with experience teaching IGCSE Accounting or a similar syllabus.
  • Passionate about making accounting accessible, relevant, and engaging for students.
  • A strong communicator who can explain complex concepts in a simple and relatable way.
  • Open to exploring a more holistic, interdisciplinary approach to teaching (training and support provided).
  • Someone who values both academic rigour and life skills—helping students develop financial literacy, ethical awareness, and analytical thinking.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Studies, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Diploma in Education) or equivalent certification (preferred).
  • Experience with student competitions, business clubs, or finance workshops (preferred).
  • Professional certifications (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) are an added advantage.

Don't have this level of experience teaching, but come from a corporate background? That's great - we're also open to receiving applications from industry that would love to share their real-world knowledge with the next generation.

Beyond Balance Sheets: Teaching For Life

This is a part-time position, but its impact goes beyond classroom hours. If you want to help students see the real value of accounting—not just for exams, but for life—we’d love to hear from you.
