Inspire, Guide & Grow with Your Students
Join Us as a Grade 1 Main Teacher
Education isn’t just about subjects—it’s about storytelling, rhythm, connection, and discovery. In Waldorf education, the Grade 1 teacher isn’t just an instructor—they are a guide, mentor, and storyteller, journeying with the same group of students through their early years of learning and growth.
At TongXin Waldorf School, we are looking for a Grade 1 Main Teacher who will walk alongside students through their foundational years, bringing wonder, creativity, and structure to the classroom. If you believe education should spark curiosity, nurture confidence, and foster a love of learning, this role is for you.
A Unique Teaching Journey - With Support Along the Way
This isn’t about textbooks and exams—it’s about rhythm, storytelling, nature, and creativity. You’ll introduce English, Mathematics, and Nature Science through imaginative lessons, movement, music, and hands-on experiences. You don’t need prior experience in Waldorf education—just a love for teaching, an openness to learn, and a commitment to growing with your students. Training, mentorship, and a warm community will support you every step of the way.
What You'll Do (With Heart & Purpose)
- Lead a Class, Not Just Teach It – Journey with the same group of students for multiple years, building deep trust and connection.
- Design Engaging, Waldorf-Aligned Lessons – Plan creative, interdisciplinary lessons in English, Math, and Nature Science.
- Teach Through Storytelling & Imagination – Bring subjects to life through movement, music, rhythm, and hands-on exploration.
- Work in Small Classes – With less than 20 students per class, you’ll have the space to personalise learning and build strong student relationships.
- Guide Students’ Social & Emotional Growth – Foster kindness, resilience, and confidence, helping students navigate challenges and friendships.
- Bring Learning to Life Through Art & Handwork – Use chalkboard drawings, handcrafts, and natural materials to enrich lessons.
- Honor Seasonal Rhythms & Festivals – Lead classroom celebrations, seasonal festivals, and meaningful cultural traditions.
- Partner with Parents & the School Community – Communicate openly and regularly with families and contribute to school-wide events and initiatives.
- Be Part of a Thriving School Community – Join a supportive, engaged team where teachers, students, and parents learn and grow together.
Who We're Looking For
- A dedicated, warm, and inspiring educator who values the long-term relationship between teacher and students.
- Someone who sees children as whole beings—intellectually, emotionally, and socially—and wants to guide them with care.
- A clear and engaging communicator who can build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Open to learning the Waldorf approach, including storytelling, movement-based learning, and interdisciplinary teaching.
- A team player and community-minded educator who thrives in a collaborative school environment.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (Education or a related field preferred).
- Experience teaching in English
- A background in storytelling, music, or the arts is a plus!
- Experience working with young children in a holistic, child-centred environment.
A Rare & Meaningful Teaching Opportunity
This is more than a job—it’s a commitment to guiding a group of young learners through their most formative years. If you believe teaching should be a journey, not just a subject to deliver, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply today, and be part of a school where teaching is an art, and learning is a lifelong adventure.
